Let’s Explore What’s Possible
Every place has its own stories, character and relationships.
I work with communities, festivals, charities, churches, cultural organisations, heritage sites and wellbeing programmes, bringing my artistic practice into conversation with the people and places I encounter.
Rather than arriving with a predetermined outcome, I spend time listening, observing and making.
For me, a residency is a way of being present… allowing relationships, questions and creative responses to emerge through time, attention and making.
What can a residency offer?
Every residency is different because every place is different.
Creative exploration can help organisations and communities:
- Express the identity, character and values of a place through original artistic responses.
- Reveal stories, relationships and possibilities that might otherwise remain unseen.
- Bring people together through shared creative experiences.
- Create space for reflection, conversation and new perspectives.
- Strengthen belonging by celebrating the uniqueness of a place and its people.
- Leave creative work that continues to invite reflection and conversation.
A Different Way of Seeing
A residency is more than documentation. By spending time within an organisation or community, I create artistic responses that emerge through attention, curiosity and making.
The resulting work can become valuable for communication, engagement, fundraising and advocacy, while remaining rooted in genuine artistic exploration.
Commissioning a Residency
Every residency develops differently because every place asks different questions.
Together we shape an approach that responds to your context, timescale and aspirations.
Typical costs include:
- Artist fee
- Research and development
- Residency activity
- Creative production
- Materials
- Documentation
- Public sharing or exhibition
I also work collaboratively with partners to develop proposals suitable for Arts Council and other funding applications.
