Artist Residencies
I work with places rather than simply in them.
Residency provides the time and space to move beyond first impressions—to listen, build relationships and develop a deeper understanding of the people, histories and character of a place.
I do not arrive with a predetermined outcome. Instead, I allow the work to emerge through curiosity, conversation and creative experimentation.
Why Residencies?
Time spent in a place changes the work that is made.
A residency creates the opportunity to listen before responding, allowing ideas to develop through lived experience rather than assumption.
By immersing myself within a community or environment, the work becomes a conversation between artist, place and people.
The value is not only in the finished artwork, but in the relationships, conversations and understandings generated through the process.
The resulting artwork is a moment of capture within an ongoing enquiry—an expression of what has been noticed, explored and understood at that particular time.

Creative responses emerge through whichever medium best serves the enquiry.
