Hi Abi
Good to meet up and have a chat.
We chatted through aiming at Fridays 10-12 to be present in the cafe and create, initially to get a feel for the space and see what emerges.
- Looking to eventually allow people to join in or create alongside.
- Looking art themes of how people use the space, how they come to be here, what value it brings.
We talked about the gardeners / garden as perhaps a space to create in, and local volunteers are beginning to own the space too.
Also perhaps using the ‘Community cards’ ice breaker to build a notion of what people value in the community (this could live in the space perhaps).
Could we look at starting 17th April, as I’m away a little over Easter and I’d like to have some momentum if that makes sense rather than starting and stopping.
Shall we try it weekly for a month and see what emerges?
Longer term I do need to try and make it sustainable. Perhaps after a month I could see where we are and if what’s been created brings any value, and see if there are and options!

Prep: Create two boxes of intentionally cut shapes and scraps that are left.

Ideas to keep as prompts for people:
- Triangles from edge to show visits : size indicates importance
- Cut route (left right curve etc from their house the hub
- Manager = corners holding space
- Cook = ingredients = choose scraps
I thought about asking Hazel to make scraps = cut a sheet ‘intentionally’ in some way to make ‘authentic’ scraps.
Cover the paper so it’s not intimidating white.
Use words people find in the scaps
I might include a poem I wrote called ‘Joy to hold’
